CiRA starts distribution of 3 new types of Mouse iPS cell

CiRA has started the distribution of three new types of mouse iPS cell clones to non-profit academic research institutions through RIKEN BioResource Center (RIKEN BRC).

The three new types are: two mouse iPS cell clones generated by introducing four genes - Oct3/4, Sox2, Klf4, c-Myc - via plasmid vectors and one mouse iPS cell clone using three factors, excluding c-Myc, a known oncogene, conveyed by retroviral vectors.

Renewal of distribution procedure
The distribution system of research materials including mouse iPS cells has been simplified. Previously applicants were required to submit MTA to both Kyoto University and RIKEN BRC to receive iPS cells, but the procedures is now only with RIKEN BRC.
