Yamanaka-Balzan Award: Indivisual Researcher Position Available
The Center for iPS Cell Research and Application (CiRA), Kyoto University, has set up the Yamanaka-Balzan Award in order to support a young researcher to carry out research to develop the iPS cell technology.
CiRA Director Shinya Yamanaka received the 2010 Balzan Prize for Stem Cells during a ceremony held in Italy last month. The International Balzan Foundation requires recipients to use half of the awards for research projects by young researchers.
To fulfill the requirement, CiRA set up the Yamanaka-Balzan Award and started accepting applications from aspiring young researchers who are eager to contribute to studies on the mechanisms of cellular reprogramming and applications of iPS cell technology. Visit the website below for details.
CiRA hopes that the award will contribute to the development of iPS cell research and nurturing a young scientist.
