Procedure for
acceptance of graduate students at CiRA
The Center for iPS cell Research and Application (CiRA), Kyoto University hosts graduate students (and undergraduates) enrolled in the Faculty of Medicine.
For students wishing to enter the Master’s or Ph.D. course, they must first pass the entrance examination and be accepted into the School of Medicine.
CiRA is divided into different Departments. To join a lab in a given department, a student must come to an agreement with the lab supervisor.
If that supervisor does not hold the title of professor, then the student must also receive additional permission from a CiRA professor based on the advice of the lab supervisor.
It is recommended that Applicants consult the lab supervisor prior to taking the entrance examination.
We are going to hold an online information session for those who have an interest in enrolling in CiRA as a graduate student at the Graduate School of Medicine, Kyoto University.
It will be held mostly in Japanese, but if you are interested in participating, please check the Japanese website.

- Select desired lab
- Contact PI and inquire about posibility of being accepted as a student. Interview, if necessary.
- PI requests approval from department professor.
- PI notifies applicant of result of (3).
- Prospective student takes Graduate School of Medicine, Kyoto University entrance examination.
