About CiRA
Commitment to Diversity
In line with the "Declaration on the Promotion of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) at Kyoto University," CiRA respects individual differences and values, including gender, age, nationality, disability, religion, and cultural background. We strive to create an environment where researchers, staff, and students feel secure and supported to reach their full potential, and as such, have undertaken a range of initiatives to achieve this goal.

Diversity Promotion Lecture
CiRA holds an annual diversity lecture covering timely topics such as unconscious bias, DEIB (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging), and harassment prevention. These seminars provide opportunities to reflect on how to build an organization where people from diverse backgrounds can thrive.
Fostering Connections within CiRA
CiRA encourages its members to connect and promotes an environment where they can develop a mutual understanding of the values and customs shaped by their diverse backgrounds. In addition to the year-end party, events such as CiRA Social and CiRA Tea Time are held several times a year, providing opportunities for interaction across laboratories and administrative offices.
The CiRA Language Exchange Program also brings together members from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds. Through communication in English and Japanese, participants improve their language skills while deepening their understanding of different cultures and values.
CiRA Science Hub provides a forum for exchanging ideas across research fields and professional roles, encouraging lively discussions on science and a wide range of other topics.
