Development of a feeder free neural differentiation method and a monkey parkinson's disease model

The research team led by Dr. Jun Takahashi in cooperation with RIKEN has reported that they succeeded in differentiating human iPSCs into dopaminergic neurons, using a feeder-free culturing method. In addition, the group has developed a system to evaluate the function of human iPSC-derived neural cells in a Pakinson's disease primate model. These findings were published in the journal of Parkinson's disease on December 29th, 2011.
