iPS Bar in Nagoya

CiRA partnered with Nagoya University to host CiRA's first iPS Bar in Nagoya, near Japan's automotive capital and 65 miles east of Kyoto, this past January 22nd. This was the 27th Science Caf� held by CiRA, but the first time it held one of its public events in the city. Following a brief introduction about iPS cells and CiRA as an institute from science communicator Ayaka Nakauchi, CiRA Associate Professor Hidetoshi Sakurai spoke to the 30 people attending the free event about Duchenne muscular dystrophy and his use of iPS cells to study the disease.
