Artwork Exhibition at CiRA
A new artwork exhibition has been unveiled at the Center for iPS Cell Research and Application (CiRA), Kyoto University, offering the general public an opportunity to engage with life science. The artwork was planned by Assistant Research Staff Kinuko Kasama and Program-Specific Associate Professor Jusaku Minari of the Uehiro Research Division for iPS Cell Ethics and created by Tatsuya Kameyama and Atsuko Nakagawa of the creative unit tupera tupera.
Please note that the artwork in the exhibition was completed using a special printing technique based on the original artwork.
There is no right or wrong
way to look at this work.
People familiar with science may see one thing,
while those who are into art may see something else.
Moreover, by seeing others' opinions,
you may discover something new.

Kinuko Kasama and Dr. Jusaku Minari (Uehiro Research Division for iPS Cell Ethics, CiRA, Kyoto University), with the support of Maki Takahashi, Shogo Tone, and Hitomi Anma (mondo), as well as SunM Color Co. Ltd.
To create the final artwork, the original drawing was made as a paper cut-out. After a scanning and refinement process, the piece was perfected using the ultraviolet (UV) printing technique, KASANE GRAPHICA, which accentuates the depth and texture of the original work by stacking layers of ink.
